BILL · 1991–92 SESSION · LATEST VERSION SHB 2414
HB 2414: Public works bids
Requiring disclosures for public works bids.
Summary
- The Legislature finds that employees may be misclassified as independent contractors and therefore premiums are not paid for industrial insurance or unemployment insurance. The failure to pay these costs results in loss of tax revenues to the state and loss of benefits to workers, and creates a competitive disadvantage for other contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers.
