BILL · 2003–04 SESSION · LATEST VERSION E2SHB 1019

HB 1019: Electronic toll payers

Protecting identification of persons who pay tolls electronically.

Summary

  • Personally identifying information of persons who use transponders and other technology for the payment of tolls is exempt from disclosure. Aggregate data, including census tract information of account holders, may be released to agencies or groups concerned with public transportation or public safety, as long as it does not contain personally identifying information. Other than for purposes of toll enforcement, law enforcement agencies must obtain a court order for release of personally identifying information.
