SB 5465: Right to possess firearms

Clarifying the process for restoration of the right to possess firearms.

Summary

  • A petition to have the right to possess a firearm restored must be filed in the superior court of the county in which the conviction occurred and judgment, or finding of not guilty by reason of insanity, was entered. If there are disqualifying convictions from more than one county, then the offender must file a petition in each county separately.
