Summary

  • Authorizes the Governor to take steps to carry out the purposes of the broadband provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
  • Designates the DIS as the eligible entity for purposes of the federal Broadband Data Improvement Act (BDIA).
  • Authorizes the Department of Information Services (DIS) to oversee broadband deployment and adoption programs for the state.
  • Transfers the Community Technology Opportunity Program from Washington State University to the DIS.
