HB 2296: Petition signatures/cities

Addressing duplicate signatures on petitions in cities, towns, and code cities.

Summary

  • Provides that, for purposes of determining the sufficiency of petitions submitted to a city or town, the first valid signature for a person who has signed the petition more than once must be counted and all additional, duplicate signatures must be rejected.
