HB 1685: Washington food policy forum

Establishing a Washington food policy forum.

Summary

  • Establishes the Washington Food Policy Forum (Forum) as a public-private partnership for the purposes of creating a forum in which state food policy, food-related programs, and food-related issues can be examined, improved, and better integrated.
  • Requires the Forum to coordinate with the Washington State University Center for Sustaining Agriculture and Natural Resources (WSU Center) to review, consider, and discuss a study that the WSU Center is required to perform that builds on work performed by the Washington State Food System Roundtable and identifies a 25-year goal for expansion of the state's food production, processing, and distribution capacity.
