HB 1035: Higher ed. traumatic stress

Creating policies and resources to address secondary traumatic stress in the higher education workforce.

Summary

  • Requires the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, each college district, and the regional universities to publish on their website links to resources, self-assessments, and best practices for faculty, staff, and trustees to prevent and address secondary traumatic stress in the workforce.
  • Directs the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and the regional universities to develop or revise, and periodically update, a Model Policy and Procedure to prevent and address secondary traumatic stress in the workforce.
  • Requires each community and technical college district and regional university to adopt policies and procedures related to secondary traumatic stress that incorporate specified elements.
