Summary
Increases eligibility for the maximum Washington College Grant (WCG) award to include students with a family income up to 60 percent of the median family income starting in academic year (AY) 2025-26.
Reduces the maximum award at private four-year not-for-profit institutions to 50 percent of the research institution rate starting in AY 2026-27 for the WCG and AY 2027-28 for the College Bound Scholarship (CBS).
Eliminates private 2-year and 4-year for-profit institutions from being eligible for the WCG in AY 2026-27 and for the CBS in AY 2027-28.
Reduces the Western Governor's University-Washington (WGU) award maximum to $4,150 starting in AY 2026-27 for the WCG and $4,650 starting in AY 2027-28 for the CBS.
Reduces award amounts for registered apprenticeships to 50 percent of the Community and Technical College maximum award, starting in AY 2026-27 for the WCG.
