SB 5932: Alternative jet fuel
Providing certainty for the development of low-to-zero carbon alternative jet fuel production in Washington state.
Summary
- Requires the preferential business and occupation or public utility tax rates (preferential rates) and associated credits for certain manufacturing or other activities relating to alternative jet fuel (AJF) to take effect by July 1, 2031.
- Allows a person to report under the preferential rates for ten years from the date on which the AJF facility became operationally complete, which may not be later than December 31, 2041.
- Allows a person to claim the AJF tax credits for ten years from the date on which the person first claimed credits.
- Expires the tax preferences on July 1, 2051.
