SB 5985: Endometriosis

Concerning endometriosis.

Summary

  • Directs University of Washington, in collaboration with Washington State University and other relevant stakeholders, beginning July 1, 2027, to establish an online resource center focusing on endometriosis by July 1, 2028.
  • Directs the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction to incorporate information related to menstrual health, including differentiating between typical menstrual discomfort and severe symptoms that may require additional medical attention such as endometriosis, when revising the health and physical education state learning standards.
