SB 6050: Distributed energy resources

Expanding the use of distributed energy resources.

Summary

  • Establishes requirements and conditions for the use of portable solar generation devices and customer-owned meter-mounted devices.
  • Requires, effective January 1, 2029, the Utilities and Transportation Commission to allow an electrical or natural gas company to invest in rental housing energy conservation and efficiency programs to be secured through the meter and recovered through the regular billing paid by the tenant.
