Concerning school district financial management.

Summary

  • Establishes new budget evaluation and support duties for educational service districts (ESDs), including evaluating the sustainability of each school district budget and providing additional supports to school districts in binding conditions or showing indicators of financial distress.
  • Establishes new requirements for hiring persons with significant financial oversight and bars persons who have knowingly violated certain financial requirements from future employment at public schools, school districts, and ESDs.
  • Directs the Washington State School Directors' Association to provide funding and finance training for all school district directors.
